Getting Started

Your first site, from zero to live.

How do I create my first site?

From your dashboard, click "New Site". Pick a template that matches what you're building (restaurant, portfolio, store, blog, etc.) or start from a blank canvas. Give it a name, and you'll land straight in the editor.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Every template comes with a working home page and pre-built sub-pages already designed — you're editing text, images, and colors, not writing HTML. The drag-and-drop editor handles the rest.

What's the difference between templates?

Each template is built for a specific kind of business — a SaaS landing page, a restaurant menu and reservations, a fashion store with a shop and lookbook, a blog with articles and a newsletter signup, and more. Preview any template before choosing — what you see in the preview is exactly what you'll get.

Can I switch templates after I've started editing?

Not directly — switching templates would replace your content. If you want a different look, we recommend starting a new site with the new template and copying over the content you want to keep.

How does saving work?

Your work saves automatically as you edit, and again whenever you switch between pages. You'll see a brief "Saved" confirmation in the corner — there's no save button you need to remember to click.

Can my site have more than one page?

Yes. Use the page tabs at the top of the editor to switch between pages, add a new page with the + button, or delete a page you don't need (you can't delete the home page). Most templates already come with extra pages pre-built — like an About or Contact page — so you're not starting from scratch.

How do I add images?

Drag an image block onto your page, then click it to upload — images are hosted for you automatically and load fast everywhere in the world.

Can I undo a mistake?

Yes — use the undo/redo buttons in the top toolbar, the same as Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z.

Why can't I delete a specific element?

Every element on every template is editable and deletable by design. If something feels stuck, click it once to select it, then use the on-canvas toolbar or press Delete on your keyboard.

Publishing & Going Live

From draft to a real, working website.

How do I publish my site?

Click "Publish →" in the top-right of the editor. You'll see a short loading animation while we set things up, then a confirmation with your live URL — something like yoursite.chavica.com. Anyone with that link can visit your site immediately.

Can I unpublish a site?

Yes, anytime. Click the "Unpublish" button in the editor — your site comes offline immediately but all your content stays saved, so you can republish whenever you're ready.

Can I keep editing after publishing?

Yes. Publishing doesn't lock anything — keep editing and your changes save the same way. They go live the moment you save; there's no separate "deploy" step.

Custom Domains

Use your own domain name instead of a subdomain.

Do I need a custom domain to publish?

No — every site gets a free yoursite.chavica.com subdomain the moment you publish. A custom domain (like yourbrand.com) is optional.

How do I get a custom domain?

Go to Domains in your dashboard, search for the domain name you want, and purchase it directly — no need for a separate registrar account. Once purchased, connect it to any of your sites in one click.

I already own a domain elsewhere — can I use it?

Domain connection currently works for domains purchased through Chavica. If you have a domain elsewhere you'd like to use, reach out to support and we'll help.

Billing & Plans

Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise.

What does the Free plan include?

The Free plan lets you build and publish a site using any Free-tier template, with a yoursite.chavica.com subdomain. Pro templates and custom domains require an upgrade.

How do I upgrade my plan?

Go to Billing in your dashboard and choose a plan. Payment is handled securely through Bachs — cards, bank transfer, mobile money, and crypto are all supported, from anywhere in the world.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, cancel anytime from the Billing page. Your sites stay live until the end of your current billing period.

What is white-label?

White-label removes Chavica branding from your published sites and lets you set your own brand name, logo, and accent color across your dashboard. It's available as an add-on on paid plans.

Teams & API Access

Collaborate, or build on top of Chavica.

Can I invite other people to work on my sites?

Yes — go to Team in your dashboard and invite a teammate by email. They'll get access to collaborate on your sites.

Does Chavica have an API?

Yes. Generate an API key from API Keys in your dashboard and use it to create and manage sites programmatically. See the Developer Docs for the full reference.
